I am used to lifting grocery bags and sometimes my toddler also wants to be picked up. Now in pregnancy I get nervous every time I carry something heavy. How much is usually okay, or should I ask my gynac for my case?
Yaar, actually my gynac told me to avoid anything that makes you strain. Like, if you're holding your breath while lifting, it's too much. For daily stuff, jaise sabzi bags or normal luggage, if you're used to it, it's fine. But no heavy dabbas or water cans na, be careful.
Oh god, I remember panicking about this too! Like, even picking up my handbag felt like a risk initially. But my doctor said, if it's something you lifted comfortably before pregnancy and it doesn't strain you, it's generally okay. Just listen to your body and avoid anything that feels like a stretch or makes you hold your breath.
Haha, how much weight? Well, anything heavier than my phone feels like a massive workout these days! Kidding aside, seriously, my doc told me if it feels heavy, it probably is. I've successfully avoided lifting anything more than a packet of chips and my own mood swings.
This is such an important question, especially when you're being extra careful. After my IVF journey, my doctor was very clear: no heavy lifting at all, especially in the first trimester. Even later, they advised me to avoid anything that could put strain on my abdomen. Always best to discuss with your gynac, as everyone's journey is unique.
Yaar, honestly, I try to lift only my plate of golgappas or that big bowl of biryani these days! My gynac said nothing too heavy, jo tum pehle se karti ho, woh theek hai, but no new heavy stuff. Main toh bas apne cravings utha rahi hoon, lol!
