Second trimester me hu and have a toddler at home who always wants to be picked up. Also worried about lifting grocery bags etc. How much is actually safe, dont want to overdo it.
According to my pregnancy tracker, lifting up to 10 kgs is usually fine if your pregnancy is uncomplicated. But the app also warned to avoid heavy lifting in the first and third trimesters because the relaxin hormone makes your joints loose.
Please do not lift heavy weights at all. I had bleeding complications in my first trimester due to lifting a heavy suitcase, so I strictly recommend asking your doctor about your safe lifting limits.
I felt so scared to even lift a bucket of water during my first trimester because everyone told me it could cause a miscarriage. I eventually only lifted very light things under 5 kgs just to be safe.
