How much weight should i gain during pregnancy first trimester?
Im around 9 weeks and havent really gained much, actually lost a little due to nausea. Now im wondering kitna weight gain is normal in these early months? Dont want to stress unnecessarily but curious.
My toddler is 2 now, but back then I was so worried about not gaining weight in my first trimester. Honestly, you only need to gain about 1-2 kgs, or even none if you have bad morning sickness. Don't worry, your baby is tiny and getting enough nutrients!
In the first trimester, you barely need to gain 1 to 2 kg. In fact, many moms lose weight because of nausea, which is totally normal. Don't force yourself to 'eat for two' right now, just focus on staying hydrated.
During my first trimester, I hardly gained any weight because of nausea, but my baby grew perfectly fine. Just focus on your prenatal vitamins and simple food. Taking care of your strength now helps a lot in recovery later.
Since I had to manage gestational diabetes later, I learned that first trimester weight gain should be very minimal, around 1-2 kg. Focus on eating nutrient-dense food like nuts and sprouts rather than heavy sweets or carbohydrates, as sudden weight spikes aren't good.
Oh, I was constantly stepping on the scale and panicking because I actually lost weight due to throwing up! My doctor told me it's totally normal to gain very little or nothing in the first three months. Please don't worry, your baby is perfectly safe in there.
