Second trimester now and ive put on a few kgs already, my mom keeps saying eat more eat more but i dont want to overdo it. Trying to understand whats a healthy range for the whole pregnancy. How much did you all gain?
My gynac said it depends on your starting weight and BMI, no single number for everyone. For me she suggested roughly 10-12 kg over the whole pregnancy. She tracked it every visit, so let your doctor set your target.
Realistically dont micromanage the kg yaar, life is busy. Eat proper home meals, dont skip just because of work, and let your gynac flag if anything is off at checkups. That worked fine for me.
Please go by what your doctor advises here, dont aim for a random number. I had GD so my weight and diet were watched closely. Steady healthy gain matters more than a fixed figure, and good food beats eating for two.
Around 10-12 kg is the usual range they talk about, but it varies. Both my pregnancies were a bit different. Dont obsess over the scale, just eat well and stay a little active if doc allows.
My doctor gave me a healthy range and i kept on track mostly with short walks and light prenatal yoga, only because she cleared me for it. Slow and steady is the goal, not extra restriction.
