Im halfway through and my MIL keeps commenting that ive not gained enough, now im worried. I really dont know whats the normal range to put on. Will confirm with my gynac but how much did you ladies gain?
It really depends where you started weight wise, slim moms gain a bit more, heavier moms a bit less. General range is about 10-13 kg. The key is gradual and steady, and let your gynac monitor it visit to visit.
Roughly 10-12 kg was my range across both pregnancies. I didnt count every kilo, just ate well and walked when I could fit it in. The doctor weighs you each visit anyway so they'll flag if it's too much or too little.
With my gestational diabetes the doctor was strict about steady, controlled gain rather than sudden jumps. She gave me a personal target since it varies per person. Honestly I'd say dont obsess over a fixed number, let your doctor guide your healthy range.
My gynac said it depends on your starting BMI, but for most women around 10 to 13 kg over the whole pregnancy is typical. She tracked it at every visit. The first trimester is very little, most of the gain happens in the second and third.
I used to stress over the scale every single morning honestly. My doctor told me to relax, the total around 11-12 kg is normal and it's not the same every week. Steady gain matters more than the daily number, that calmed me down.
