just found out at my scan its twins, still processing it haha. now im confused about everything including weight. is the weight gain supposed to be much more than a single baby? curious what the twin mommas here experienced.
With twins you do gain noticeably more than a single baby, that part is real, haha I outgrew everything fast. But the exact number depends on your starting weight, so your doctor will give you a target. Mine tracked it closely every visit.
Twin pregnancies are watched more closely so please follow your doctor's plan exactly. Mine monitored my weight and the babies' growth at every scan. Too little or too much both need attention, so don't guess on your own.
Higher than a single baby, that's for sure. But there's no one number for everyone, depends where you started. Focus on good protein and regular meals, and let your gynac set the target.
My doctor said twin pregnancies need more weight gain than single ones, and she set a personalised range based on my BMI. She also stressed steady gain matters more than the total. Definitely get your own number from your gynac.
