I have a toddler at home who always wants to be picked up plus normal house lifting. Now that im pregnant again im scared kitna weight uthana safe hai. Dont want to strain anything. anyone been through this?
I always preferred doing light household chores to stay active naturally, but I never lifted anything heavy. If you have to lift slightly heavier things and feel any strain or sharp pain, stop immediately. It's best to consult your doctor to know your safe limits.
Straining your body with heavy lifting is not recommended during pregnancy. While staying active is important, it's safer to stick to light walks rather than lifting weights. Make sure you talk to your doctor about what physical activities are safe for you.
Since I had a history of PCOS and a slightly complicated start, my doctor strictly told me to avoid lifting anything heavy, even filled water buckets or heavy grocery bags. It's always better to be cautious. Please ask your gynac about your specific limit before lifting anything.
The general rule is to avoid lifting anything over 5-10 kgs, but it really depends on what your body was used to before pregnancy. Since my husband is a doctor, he always advised patients not to strain their abdominal muscles. Definitely check with your gynac to see what is safe for your body.
Generally, lifting light household items is absolutely fine, but try to avoid heavy lifting like furniture or big buckets of water. If you need to pick up something from the floor, bend your knees instead of bending from your waist. Always listen to your body and don't push yourself!
