I would say get your thyroid and basic bloods checked before trying, mine was off and needed correcting. Regular follow up made my pregnancy smoother. Dont skip that pre check up.
We are just starting out too and it felt overwhelming at first. My doctor said folic acid, good food and stay relaxed. Slowly slowly we are getting there.
Start folic acid before conceiving, eat balanced meals and get a basic health check done. If you have thyroid, sugar or pcos, sort that out with the doctor first. Preparing the body a few months ahead really helps.
