We tried this cycle and now im counting days haha. I dont want to waste a kit by testing too early. How many days after does the urine test actually start showing it?
I asked the chemist this too. He said wait for the period to be late then test in the morning. The early testing only made me anxious with unclear lines, so now I just wait it out.
My gynac said home urine kits pick up hcg best after a missed period, roughly 14 days after ovulation. Some sensitive ones claim few days earlier but accuracy drops a lot. She said morning urine first thing gives the strongest reading.
Depends on the kit sensitivity in mIU. My early result one detected a faint line about 2 days before period, but the line was so light I doubted it. For peace of mind wait till missed period, much clearer.
Urine kits really work reliably only around the day your period is due or after. Testing before that often shows false negative. If you test early and its negative but period still doesnt come, just test again after 2-3 days.
