I am trying to understand why I feel emotional even before my missed period. Maybe I am imagining because we are trying. When do hormones actually start changing after conception?
The hormones (hCG mainly) begin after implantation, so usually you feel things close to your missed period, not right after. Everyone's different though, some feel it early, some not at all. A test around your due period is the real answer.
My gynac said the pregnancy hormone hCG starts rising only after the embryo implants, around 6 to 10 days after ovulation. That's why tests work best around the missed period. It then doubles every couple of days early on.
They kick in after implantation, roughly a week to ten days after conception, not immediately. That's when the tiredness and nausea slowly begin for most. Before that you wont feel hormonal changes really.
I always thought it was instant but it's actually after implantation. I started feeling weirdly emotional and sleepy right around when my period was due. Did that happen to you all too?
