I waited till after first trimester then told my boss in a private one on one, before telling the whole team. Kept it simple, gave expected due date and said I'll plan handover properly. Being clear about leave plan made it smooth.
Just be straightforward yaar. Book a private slot with ur manager, tell them clearly, and mention u'll share a transition plan. No need to over explain or apologise. Its normal, handle it professionally.
Tell ur boss before office gossip reaches them, thats my tip. Do it in person or call, not casually. Also read ur company maternity policy first so u know ur leave rights before the talk.
