How to avoid gestational diabetes during pregnancy?
Diabetes runs in my family so im quite worried about getting it during pregnancy. im in my first trimester and want to start good habits early. what diet or things helped u keep ur sugar in check?
I had GD so i can share what helped after diagnosis, less sugar and refined carbs, small frequent meals, and a walk after eating made a big difference for my numbers. You cant fully guarantee avoiding it but a balanced diet and staying active helps. Do the glucose test on time so its caught early.
Staying active genuinely helps, i did light walks daily after my doctor allowed. Cutting down on sweets and fried snacks also matters a lot. But the test is still important since family history plays a role too.
My doctor said a healthy weight, balanced diet and regular movement lower the risk but it can still happen due to hormones and genetics. She stressed doing the OGTT test around 24-28 weeks. So eat well and dont skip that test.
