Im in my 4th month and my hair is coming out in handfuls everytime i comb or wash. It never used to be this bad before. Is there anything that actually helps or do i just have to wait it out? pls share what worked for u.
Beta in our time we used coconut oil with a little curry leaves warmed up, massage gently into scalp once a week. Nothing fancy. But if hair is falling a LOT in patches then do mention to your doctor, sometimes thyroid or iron is low.
Some hair fall is totally normal during pregnancy, hormones are doing their thing. Eat proper protein, dont skip your iron and prenatal vitamins, and avoid heat styling. Both my pregnancies it happened and grew back fine after.
My amma always said amla and coconut oil for hair and honestly it did help me feel less stressed about it. But I also got my iron checked because doctor said low iron can make it worse in pregnancy. Maybe ask your gynac to check that na.
Just adding, when my hair fall was really heavy turned out my thyroid was acting up during pregnancy. So if it feels excessive pls get a thyroid and iron test done, easy to fix once you know. Otherwise normal shedding is okay.
Honestly I didnt have time for fancy hair masks with work. I just switched to a mild shampoo, took my prenatals on time and tied hair loose. Kept it simple and it managed. Dont stress yourself with 10 step routines.
I felt so bad when my hair started coming out in clumps in pregnancy, used to cry in the shower honestly. What helped me was just oiling twice a week and being gentle, no tight ponytails. It does settle down, dont panic like I did.
