How to avoid urinary tract infection during pregnancy?
I'm worried about getting a UTI during pregnancy, as I've heard it can cause complications. What steps can I take to avoid urinary tract infections during this time? Any tips would be helpful.
Just drink lots of water and tender coconut water, it keeps the system clean. Also, always wipe front to back after using the washroom, simple but super important. I did this and stayed completely safe till my delivery.
After so many struggles to get pregnant, even a small infection can make us feel so anxious, I completely understand. Please drink plenty of fluids and use a mild, doctor-approved intimate wash if needed. Take care of yourself, you are doing great.
Honestly, I am also trying to conceive and keep reading about UTI risks. Is it safe to use public washrooms with those toilet sprays, or should we avoid them altogether? Let me know what worked for you guys.
My gynac strictly told me that we are more prone to UTIs now because of hormonal changes that slow down urine flow. She advised me to pee immediately after intimacy and never hold urine. Also, drinking at least 3 liters of water daily is non-negotiable.
With twins pressing on my bladder, I was basically living in the bathroom anyway! My advice is just don't try to save time by holding it in, go whenever u feel the urge. And please stick to cotton undergarments, synthetic ones are just trouble.
