I had a UTI just before getting pregnant and it was so painful, im really scared of it coming back now. Im in second trimester. What all do you do to prevent it, any habits or things that help? pls share ur tips.
Lots of water, frequent urination, and good hygiene are the basics. Cranberry can help some people but the main things are water and not holding it in. And never self treat a UTI in pregnancy, the doctor decides the medicine.
Drink plenty of water, dont hold your urine for long, and wipe front to back. Wear cotton undergarments and keep the area dry. These simple habits really cut down infections, I followed them and had no UTI both pregnancies.
Prevention is good but if you ever feel burning while peeing or go very frequently with pain, get it checked fast, UTIs in pregnancy need proper treatment. I ignored mine once and it worsened. Stay hydrated and dont delay seeing the doctor if symptoms start.
