Im in my second trimester and ive heard these infections are very common now. I haven't had one yet and honestly want to keep it that way. What precautions did you ladies take?
For me keeping sugar in check actually helped reduce these, high sugar feeds yeast. Plus loose cotton clothes n staying dry. If u get one, dont ignore it, the doctor gives a pregnancy safe treatment. Dont try random creams.
I worried about this constantly. What kept me calm was just sticking to cotton, staying dry n drinking enough water. And the moment something felt off i called my doctor instead of googling for hours. That actually helped me not spiral.
These get more common in pregnancy coz of hormones. Keep the area dry, wear cotton undies, change quickly after sweating, avoid harsh soaps down there. But if u already have itching n discharge, dont self treat, see ur gynac for the right thing.
My doctor told me to wear breathable cotton, dry properly after bath, skip scented washes, n not stay in wet clothes. She also said dont use any over the counter cream urself in pregnancy, get it prescribed. So prevention at home, treatment from doctor.
Keep clean n dry ma, wear cotton, that simple care helps a lot. My family said the same. But if there is burning, itching or smell, please dont treat at home, the gynac will give safe medicine.
