Posting on behalf of my husband actually, he keeps asking me what he should be doing. Im in my second trimester and he wants to be more involved but doesnt know where to start. Any dads here who can share what helped?
Our doctor told my husband to attend the classes with me and he learnt so much about labor and newborn care. Knowing what is coming made him calmer and more helpful. Maybe go to a couple appointments with her, it builds the bond.
Honestly the small things mattered most to me. My husband just being there at scans, holding my hand, asking how I felt, that meant everything. U dont need to do big things, just be present and patient.
Help with the daily stuff. Cooking, cleaning, carrying things, taking her to appointments. Pregnancy is tiring na, so sharing the load is the real support. And dont take mood swings personally, hormones are no joke.
Lovely that u r even asking this, shows u care. Reading about pregnancy together really helped us, he understood what my body was doing. Just keep checking on her emotionally too, not only physically.
Just be her safe space. Some days she will be emotional for no reason, dont question it, just hug her. Your patience and warmth will mean more than anything else in these months.
Step one, never say 'you are overreacting' lol. Step two, midnight food cravings are now ur responsibility haha. Jokes apart, just listen to her and be soft, she is going through a lot.
