I just tested positive and im confused how they even count the weeks. Like do they count from period date or from conception? Trying to figure out how far along i actually am.
Doctors count from the first day of your last period, not from the day you conceived, that surprises a lot of people. So your first month is roughly counted from that last period date. Your gynac will give you the exact dating from the first scan, which is most accurate.
Easiest is to put your last period's first date into any pregnancy app and it calculates everything for you, weeks, month, due date. That's what I did. Then the doctor confirms with the scan. Way less confusing than counting on fingers honestly.
This confused me so much in the start! They count from your last period date so technically you're already 2 weeks in before you even conceive, weird na. The dating scan sorted out my exact weeks. Did anyone else find this part super confusing too?
Simple way, note the first day of your last period and count from there. From that date the weeks add up, 4 weeks is roughly your first month. But your scan gives the proper date, so let the doctor confirm it, dont stress over manual counting.
