Just got my positive test and everyone keeps asking how many weeks i am but i genuinely dont know how to count it. Do we go from last period or from when we actually conceived? My cycles were a bit irregular so im not sure where to start na.
Just remember the first day of your last period and tell the doctor, she will calculate from there. Dont try too hard to count yourself, the early scan fixes the exact weeks anyway.
My gynac counts it from the first day of last period, not from conception day. So even before you actually conceive technically those two weeks get added. The dating scan confirms it more accurately later.
Honestly easiest is to note your last period start date and let the doctor do the math. Or just enter LMP in any pregnancy app, it gives weeks instantly. Saved me a lot of guessing.
We usually count from the last monthly date ma. But trust the ultrasound, my amma was counting on fingers and the scan said something else, scan is the real one.
