How to calculate how far along you are in pregnancy?
I keep getting confused between weeks and months whenever someone asks how far along i am. Just want to understand how to figure out my exact stage. How do you all keep track?
Easiest way, put the first day of ur last period into any pregnancy tracker app and it tells u the week and due date instantly. That's what doctors use too, the LMP date. The app updated me every week, was so handy.
Doctors count from the first day of ur last period, and add roughly 280 days for due date. But the most accurate one is the dating scan in early weeks, my gynac confirmed my weeks with that. So scan beats home calculation.
Count from the first day of your last period, that gives ur weeks. But if ur cycles are irregular like mine were, the early ultrasound is more reliable. Let ur doctor confirm the exact dates at the first visit.
With irregular cycles from PCOS my last period date wasnt reliable, so my doc went by the early ultrasound to date my pregnancy. So if ur periods arent regular, dont stress over the calculation, let the scan do it.
