Just got my positive test and im so confused about how to count from when. My periods were a little irregular last few months so im not even sure of my dates. how do u all figure this out before the first scan?
My mother used to count by months but doctors go by weeks from the last period date. I just told my gynac my period date and she did everything. Trust the scan dates, they are most reliable.
Easiest way is take the first day of your last period and count from there, most apps do it automatically. I used a tracker app and it gave me weeks and due date instantly. But the dating scan at the doctor confirms it more accurately.
Note down the first day of your last period, your gynac calculates from that. Due date is roughly 40 weeks from there. The early ultrasound will give the exact dates so dont stress about doing perfect math yourself.
I was so confused with all the week counting in the beginning. My doc said dont worry the ultrasound will set the right date. Did anyone else find the period based calculation confusing at first?
