Just got my positive test and everyone keeps asking how far along i am. Im confused because doctors count from last period but a month feels different. How do u actually figure out the one month mark? pls explain simply.
Pregnancy is counted from the first day of your last period, not from conception. So one month is roughly from your LMP date. Honestly just put your last period date in any pregnancy app and it does all the calculation for u.
Dear, the doctors count from your last period start date, so don't get confused with conception date. The first scan will tell you exactly how far along you are. My gynac drew it all out for me nicely.
The standard way is from your last menstrual period date. But the early ultrasound gives the most accurate dating, especially if your cycles are irregular, so let the doctor confirm the exact weeks.
Doctors count from the first day of ur last period. So by the time u miss ur period and test positive, ur already around 4 weeks, basically a month. The dating scan later confirms it exactly.
I was so confused by this too! I kept counting from when I thought I conceived but doc counts from last period date. So I was further along on paper than I expected, funny na.
