I know my last period date but im totally confused how doctors count the weeks from it. Want to figure out roughly how far along i am before my first appointment. Can someone explain simply?
I was reading that pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your LMP because it's hard to know the exact conception day. It's so fascinating how the cycle is counted!
Don't stress too much over the exact date dear. Just take the first day of your last period, add 9 months, and then add 7 days—your doctor will confirm the exact date during your first scan anyway.
Start counting from the first day of your last period, not the day you missed. Most babies arrive within a week of that calculated date, mine was 3 days early!
I calculated mine using my LMP, but my ultrasound dating scan showed a different date by 5 days. Has anyone else also had different dates from LMP and scan?
