How to calculate pregnancy date from lmp?

I know my last period date but im totally confused how doctors count the weeks from it. Want to figure out roughly how far along i am before my first appointment. Can someone explain simply?

Just add 280 days or 9 months and 7 days to the first day of your last period. That will give you your estimated due date.

Don't stress too much over the exact date dear. Just take the first day of your last period, add 9 months, and then add 7 days—your doctor will confirm the exact date during your first scan anyway.

Start counting from the first day of your last period, not the day you missed. Most babies arrive within a week of that calculated date, mine was 3 days early!
