Amma always counted by months from my last period date. But my doctor went by weeks which was more accurate. Either way you start from the first day of your last period.
I used a pregnancy app where I just put my last period date and it showed my week and month automatically. Many apps have a Malayalam option too. Way easier than counting manually.
Doctors count from the first day of your last period, so the calculation is the same in any language. From there it is about 40 weeks or nine months. My gynac always counted in weeks, which is more precise.
