I started a bit on the heavier side and now im worried im gaining too much. how do u figure out how much weight gain is actually ok for the whole pregnancy? im 20 weeks.
My gynac told me healthy weight gain depends on your starting BMI, usually around 10 to 12 kg total for a normal range. She tracked it at every visit. So its best your doctor sets your target since it differs for everyone.
Because of my sugar issues my doctor watched my weight gain closely and gave me a specific range. Gaining too fast wasnt good for me. So I'd really suggest letting your gynac guide your target rather than a generic number.
I just weighed myself once a week at home, same time, and noted it down quickly. My doctor checked the trend at visits. Dont stress over daily fluctuations, look at the steady increase over weeks instead.
