After my IVF transfer im so confused how to count my weeks, it feels different from normal pregnancy. Do we count from transfer day or something else? Anyone who did ivf, how did u figure out ur weeks?
In IVF the counting is a bit different and honestly it confused me at first. They calculate based on the embryo transfer date and the embryo day, not your last period. Your clinic gives you the exact due date, I just trusted their dating.
I used an app but for IVF you have to enter the transfer date and embryo day, not LMP, otherwise it shows wrong. Once I put the right info it matched my clinics dates. Ask them which embryo day so the app is accurate.
My fertility doctor explained it nicely. They count from the transfer and adjust for whether it was a day 3 or day 5 embryo, so it lines up with normal pregnancy weeks. The clinic does this calculation for you, so dont stress doing it yourself.
Oh I was wondering this too! So we cant count from periods in IVF? Good to know the clinic gives the proper dating, I will just go by what they tell me then.
