How to calculate weeks of pregnancy with irregular periods?
my cycles have always been all over the place so i genuinely have no clue about my LMP. now that im pregnant how do they even figure out how far along i am? feeling lost with all the week counting.
I tried so many apps but with irregular cycles they kept giving wrong dates. The scan is what corrected everything. Use the app just for tracking symptoms, but let the dating scan set your actual weeks.
With PCOS my periods were all over the place so LMP method was useless for me. The dating scan in early weeks is what gave accurate dating. Honestly just rely on the early ultrasound, it's the most reliable with irregular cycles.
My doctor said when periods are irregular, they dont trust the last period date much and instead go by an early dating scan, usually around 7-9 weeks. The baby's size gives the accurate weeks. Ask your gynac for a dating ultrasound.
Forget calculating from period if it's irregular, it'll just confuse you. Get the first trimester scan done, that fixes your due date properly. That's exactly what I did with my second.
Same issue here, my cycle is never on time so I had no clue. My doc did a scan and gave me the weeks based on that, was such a relief. Definitely get the scan.
