Im around 24 weeks and feeling little flutters now and then but not sure how to properly count them. Doc told me to keep track but didnt explain how. How do you all do it?
Beta, the easiest way is to sit or lie quietly after eating and just notice. Babies have active and sleepy phases, so dont panic in a quiet hour. But if movements clearly reduce over a day, please get checked, okay.
My doctor taught me kick counting from around 28 weeks, lie on your side after a meal and count movements. She said around 10 movements in 2 hours is reassuring. If you ever notice a clear drop in movements, call the gynac immediately, dont wait.
I used a kick counter app, you just tap each time you feel a movement. Same time daily, usually evening when baby is active, gives you a pattern. Anything that feels off compared to the usual pattern, ring your doctor.
The first proper kicks I felt were like little bubbles, I cried happy tears honestly. I started noticing baby was most active after I drank something cold or sweet. Lying on my left side made the movements really clear.
