Test came positive but my periods are always irregular so im confused which month i actually conceived. Want to figure out roughly for my own peace of mind. How do u all calculate this?
The best and safest way is to let your gynac calculate it based on your Last Menstrual Period (LMP) or an early dating scan. Online calculators are just estimates. Don't guess it yourself, medical confirmation is always accurate.
I am also trying to understand how this is calculated. Older ladies say to count from the missed period, but actually doctors count it from your last period's first day. It's a bit confusing but a gynecologist can explain it so easily.
I felt so confused about this too when I got my positive test! I counted from our anniversary date, but my doctor told me we always count from the first day of the last period. It's funny how pregnancy math works, but it's the standard way!
I've been researching this lately since we are planning! Apparently, you just need to know the date of your last period's start, and there are standard apps that calculate the month for you. Have you tried using any online pregnancy wheels?
Usually, your pregnancy is calculated from the first day of your last period, not the actual day of intercourse. That is called the LMP method. If your periods are irregular, then the dating ultrasound done around 8 weeks will give the most accurate week and month.
