Im 20 weeks and between appointments i just feel anxious and want to hear baby once in a while. Saw some people use those little doppler machines. Is it safe to try at home or better to just wait for the scan?
My doctor actually advised against home dopplers because they can be hard to use and cause false panic when you cant find the heartbeat. The reliable checks are at your clinic with scan and doppler. She said trust the appointments rather than home gadgets.
I understand the urge to check constantly, anxiety made me want reassurance all the time. But home devices made me more anxious honestly. I learnt to trust my visits and count baby movements later on, which the doctor said was a better sign.
Honestly I wouldnt try checking at home, it is tricky and only worries you more. A friend bought a home doppler and panicked for nothing. Just go by your scheduled checkups, the doctor hears it properly there.
