How to check pregnancy at home without pregnancy kit?

My period is 6 days late and i cant go out to buy a kit right now, MIL is always around. Is there any way people used to check at home before kits came? just curious what worked for u all.

Honestly there is no reliable way without a kit, the toothpaste and other homemade tests dont work. Just buy any cheap home strip from the pharmacy or get a blood test. Dont waste time on the DIY tricks.

Those homemade methods you see online are not accurate at all. The only proper way is a urine kit or a lab blood test. Watching for missed period and symptoms can hint, but confirm with a test.
