Someone gave me one of those tube type home tests, not the strip one im used to. Im a bit lost on how to read the result properly. can anyone explain how it works?
Arre, reading those test lines is so stressful, ho na? Just put the urine drops in the round window and wait for 5 minutes. If two pink lines show up, then you are pregnant. If nothing shows after 10 minutes, then it is negative, haan na.
Hello dear, just look at the lines on the kit. One line means negative, and two lines, even if faint, mean positive. Hope you get the good news soon, take care.
If it is the home test kit, dont keep staring at it for hours hoping a second line will magically appear! Follow the manual: two lines mean congratulations, one line means try again. In my case, that second line was so dark, I should have known it was twins!
For any home urine test kit, the 'C' line is the control line which must always appear. The 'T' line is the test line—if you see a pink line there, even a super light one, it is a positive. If you are unsure, just wait two days and test again with the first urine of the day.
If you mean the home test kit strip, you just need to put 2-3 drops of morning urine in the small well. I did this just a few months back and that second line appeared almost instantly! If it is a blood test tube from a lab, they will send you the report directly, so dont open it.
Listen to me, dont stress yourself by reading too much into faint lines. Use the morning urine drop on the kit, wait exactly 5 minutes, and see. If you are still confused, just send a photo here or ask your gynac to do a quick beta hCG blood test to be 100% sure.
Waiting for those lines to appear is a very emotional moment, especially if you have been trying for a long time. Just ensure you read it within the time limit mentioned on the packet, usually 3-5 minutes. An evaporation line can sometimes appear later and cause confusion, so stay gentle with yourself.
As someone who sees these kits all the time, the rule is simple. Two lines within 3 to 5 minutes is positive. Anything that appears after 10 minutes is just an evaporation line and should not be counted. If it is a clinical blood tube, let the pathology lab run the test, dont try to guess.
