How to check progesterone levels during pregnancy?
My doctor has mentioned progesterone levels are important during pregnancy, but I'm not sure how they are actually checked. How do we typically check progesterone levels during pregnancy?
Since I went through IVF, my doctor monitored my progesterone levels very closely through regular blood tests. They are so crucial in the early weeks. Please speak to your doctor, they will easily prescribe the blood test and put you on supplements if needed.
I was reading about this on some pregnancy forums recently. Is it a routine blood test or does the doctor only prescribe it if there's a specific issue? Do share your experience if you get it done!
Progesterone levels are checked through a simple blood test called Serum Progesterone. Gynacs usually order this if they feel the pregnancy needs extra support. Just let your doctor know your concerns, they will write the lab test for you.
During my pregnancy at my mom's place, the doctor got my blood tests done including progesterone. It's a very simple lab test. My mother made sure I ate healthy and stayed calm while waiting for the reports, so don't worry.
Oh god, the amount of blood they have sucked out of me this pregnancy is insane! Yes, it's just a simple blood test that your gynac will prescribe. Hang in there, it's just another needle prick in this beautiful journey!
