We are planning to conceive next year and want to get insurance sorted before that. So many plans have waiting periods for maternity and im confused which one to pick. Anyone who has used their insurance for delivery, what should i look for?
Check the maternity waiting period first, most plans make you wait 2 to 4 years so plan early. Look at the room rent limit and whether it covers tests, delivery and newborn care. Compare the maternity cap amount, hospital bills add up fast.
I asked the hospital billing desk directly which insurers they have cashless tie ups with, that made claims smooth. Pick a plan with a good network and a decent maternity limit. Clarify upfront what is covered for delivery and newborn.
