My cycles are all over the place, sometimes 35 days sometimes 50, so i never know when im ovulating. We have been trying almost a year now and im getting a little disheartened. Any tips from those who conceived with irregular periods?
One thing that often gets missed, thyroid can mess up cycles and make conceiving harder. Mine was off and once it was treated things improved. So along with ovulation tracking, please get a basic blood workup including thyroid done with your doctor. Small fix, big difference.
My doctor said with irregular periods, ovulation timing is unpredictable so the usual day 14 rule doesnt apply. She suggested tracking signs like cervical mucus, using OPK strips over a longer window, and getting checked for things like thyroid or PCOS that cause irregularity. Treating the root cause often helps you conceive.
I conceived with irregular cycles due to PCOS so I really feel you. Tracking ovulation by strips alone was hard for me because cycles varied a lot. My gynac helped figure out my fertile window and sometimes irregular periods need a little medical help to ovulate. Please do see a doctor, it made all the difference for me.
Irregular cycles just mean you cant predict ovulation easily, so dont stress over one date. Have regular intercourse through the cycle, use OPKs, and most importantly get the cause of irregularity checked, thyroid, PCOS, weight. A doctor can guide and even help you ovulate if needed.
Dont stress too much yaar, irregular doesnt mean cant conceive, it just takes a bit more tracking. Watch your body signs, use ovulation strips, and go meet a gynac to rule out simple causes. Stress itself messes cycles, so breathe too.
We are in the same boat, my cycles are all over the place. What's helped me feel less lost is tracking everything and trying through a wider window instead of one day. But honestly I think seeing a gynac early is smart when periods are irregular, dont wait too long.
