I have asthma since childhood and now that im pregnant im so scared about using my inhaler. Doc said continue it but my mind still worries about baby. How did u manage your attacks during these months?
Dont panic, many women with asthma have totally healthy pregnancies. Just work closely with your doctor, take your meds as told and avoid triggers. You'll be fine, just stay alert to any sudden breathlessness and call your doc then.
Keep your follow ups regular and never skip your prescribed inhaler thinking it's bad for baby. Avoid your known triggers, stay away from smoke and strong smells. If breathing gets worse suddenly, go to the doctor immediately, dont wait.
Asthma in pregnancy really needs to be managed with your doctor, dont stop your inhaler on your own. Many inhalers are considered safe in pregnancy, mine kept me on mine. Uncontrolled asthma is actually riskier than the medicine, so stay in touch with your doc.
My pulmonologist and gynac coordinated for me. They said keeping asthma well controlled is very important for baby's oxygen, so they continued safe inhalers and avoided triggers. Avoid dust, smoke and cold air, and keep your reliever handy always.
