My first baby is on the way n already thinking ahead, we dont want kids back to back. just want to understand the safe ways to space things out after delivery, esp while breastfeeding. what worked for u all?
There are honestly so many choices now that it is worth a proper conversation with your doctor. They consider your breastfeeding, periods and future plans before suggesting one. Doctor advice is really the best way to pick the right method.
While fully breastfeeding it gave me some natural spacing in the early months, but it is not reliable on its own. I used a backup method too on the doctor's advice. Best to ask your gynac which is safe with feeding.
Dont stress about this yaar, just bring it up at your checkup after delivery. The gynac will lay out the options and you pick what feels right. Lots of safe choices these days.
After delivery there are several options, condoms, the pill, IUD like Copper T, and so on. What suits you depends on whether you are breastfeeding and your health, so discuss with your gynac at the postpartum visit. I went with an IUD after my second and it was convenient.
