How to control blood sugar level during pregnancy?
My GTT came slightly high and the doctor mentioned gestational diabetes, im honestly a little scared since theres history in my family. Im 25 weeks now. What changes in food or routine helped you keep the sugar in control? would really like to hear real experiences.
I had gestational diabetes so this was my whole journey. What helped me, small frequent meals, cutting white rice and sweets, more veggies and protein, and a short walk after meals. But please follow your doctors diet plan, mine put me on a proper one and monitored sugar.
Honestly the after meal walk made the biggest difference for me, even 10-15 min. I kept healthy snacks at hand so i didnt grab sugary stuff when busy. And whatever the dietician gave, stick to it, it really works.
My doctor explained to focus on complex carbs over simple sugars, pair carbs with protein, and avoid juice and sweets. Regular monitoring with a glucometer at home helped me see what food spiked my sugar. Definitely work with your gynac or a dietician on this.
This is one area where you really shouldnt self manage. Diet and exercise help but the targets and any medicine should come from your doctor. Mine monitored me closely and it kept everything safe. Please stay in touch with yours.
