I'm in my fifth month and the weight is climbing pretty fast, doc gently mentioned i should watch it. Im not trying to lose, just dont want to gain too much too quick. How did you manage this without going overboard?
You shouldnt diet to lose weight in pregnancy, but you can avoid excess gain by eating clean and skipping junk. I focused on home food, fruits and protein, and cut sugary snacks. Some weight gain is needed and healthy, just keep it steady.
Simple home cooked food is both healthy and easy on the pocket, no need for fancy diet products. I avoided eating out and junk which also saved money. Balanced dal chawal sabzi did the job for me.
I keep worrying I am gaining too fast some weeks and too slow others. My gynac said it evens out and not to obsess over the scale every day. Did others also stress about the weekly numbers?
My doctor allowed me daily walks and light prenatal yoga which really helped keep my weight steady. I never starved myself though. Movement plus balanced eating is the way, but get the okay from your gynac first.
Because I had GD I had to watch my carbs and sugar closely with my doctor's plan. Small balanced meals and avoiding sweets helped me. Please dont try to cut down food on your own, get a proper diet from your gynac or dietitian.
