Lately even walking a little or climbing stairs makes my heart race and i feel it pounding. Im in my third trimester now, dont know if this is just the pregnancy or something i should worry about. Does this happen to everyone?
My doctor explained the heart works harder in pregnancy so a slightly higher resting rate is normal. She told me to stay hydrated, rest, avoid too much caffeine and not panic at small rises. But if you get a racing heart with breathlessness, chest pain or dizziness, call her at once.
I used to panic when I felt my heart racing, which honestly made it worse. Slow deep breaths and sitting down helped me settle. But I always mentioned it to my gynac, and that reassurance calmed my overthinking.
My heart rate ran high and it turned out linked to my thyroid, so dont ignore it. Regular follow up and the right tests sorted it out for me. Please get your gynac to check the cause rather than just managing it at home.
Gentle breathing exercises and slow walks helped me feel calmer, but I only did them after my doctor okayed it. Overexertion can spike the heart rate, so I kept it light. If yours feels off, definitely check with the doctor first.
