My bp came a little high in my last checkup and my gynac has asked me to monitor it. Im honestly a bit scared because i keep reading things online. Will talk to her again but wanted to hear from others who managed high bp in pregnancy.
Take a deep breath, it can be managed with the right care. Just stay very regular with your doctor, eat light home food and rest properly. You and baby will be fine if you keep them informed.
Less salt, more rest, regular BP checks. Thats what I followed. But high BP needs your doctor watching it, so keep them in the loop and go for every check up.
I had thyroid so I was already doing frequent follow ups, and BP is the same, regular monitoring is key. Dont wait between visits if you feel headache, swelling or blurry vision, call the doctor. These things need proper tracking.
High BP in pregnancy is not something to manage on your own, please. I had raised BP and my doctor monitored me very closely, it can be serious. Follow your gynac strictly, take whatever they prescribe and dont skip any appointment.
My doctor told me to cut down on salt and outside/packed food, stay hydrated, rest more and avoid stress as much as possible. She also asked me to monitor BP at home and report any spike. The medicine part she handled herself, so dont self adjust anything.
