How to control negative thoughts during pregnancy?
I'm in my second trimester, and sometimes I get really overwhelmed with negative thoughts about my baby and delivery. How do you all manage to stay positive and control these thoughts during this time?
Looking back at my pregnancy, I realize I spent so much time worrying about things that never even happened. Now my toddler is running around and I laugh at how stressed I used to get. Please trust your body, this phase will pass and you will do great.
Whenever negative thoughts started taking over, I would go for a 15-minute slow walk in the garden, which my doctor had permitted. Prenatal yoga stretches also helped me release physical and mental stress. Just check with your gynac first before starting any exercises.
Hormonal changes are huge during pregnancy, which chemically affects your mood and causes these negative thoughts. Try to keep yourself distracted with light hobbies and don't google every symptom, it just feeds the anxiety. If the anxiety feels too heavy, please talk to your doctor.
My doctor explained that estrogen and progesterone levels spike rapidly, directly affecting brain neurotransmitters that regulate mood. She advised me to maintain a regular sleep schedule and write down my worries in a journal. Honestly, sharing those thoughts with your partner really helps release the mental tension.
Drinking warm milk with a pinch of haldi before bed really helped calm my mind when I had overthinking nights. Listening to soft music or chanting also brings peace. But if you feel constant sadness or can't sleep at all, please tell your gynac, mental health is very important.
I am going through this exact same phase right now in my second trimester, the negative thoughts can be so scary! I try to talk to my mom whenever I feel down. Does anyone else also feel sudden crying spells for no reason, or is it just me?
Beta, pregnancy me thoda darr lagna bilkul normal hai. Whenever you feel negative, just touch your tummy and talk to your baby, tell them how much you love them. Sitting in the fresh air on the terrace also helps a lot. Take care of yourself.
With twins, I had double the hormones and double the panic thoughts about how I would manage! The best way I controlled it was by organizing small things around the house or watching comedies. Keep your hands busy and your mind won't have time to create horror movies in your head!
