I started this pregnancy already on the heavier side and now the weight is going up fast. My doctor mentioned to keep it in check but didnt say much beyond that. Anyone been through this, how did u manage without overdoing anything?
Pregnancy is not the time to diet, please dont. Focus on portion control and avoid too many refined carbs and sweets, that's what my dietician told me. Regular small meals work better than heavy ones. Your gynac will guide a safe weight target.
Simple cheez, ghar ka khana, less fried stuff, more sabzi and dal, and thoda walking. I didnt do anything fancy. Drink water before meals so you dont overeat. And get weighed at every checkup.
Walking daily really helped me not gain too fast, and some pregnancy yoga but only after my doctor okayed it. Pair it with home cooked balanced meals. Dont overexert though, gentle is the key.
Honestly the best approach is letting your gynac monitor your weight gain since some gain is needed and healthy. Eat nutritious, avoid empty junk calories, stay lightly active. They'll tell you if anything needs adjusting.
I'm not gonna lie, with a job its tough but small changes helped me. I cut the sugary chai and outside snacks, took stairs, walked after dinner. Dont try to lose weight in pregnancy, just manage healthy gain. Let doc track your weight at each visit.
