My gtt came slightly on the higher side and doc said to watch my sugar. Honestly im stressed about my diet now. How did you all manage to keep it in control? Any tips welcome.
My family kept pushing payasam and sweets on me but I had to politely refuse. I focused on more veggies, less rice, and gentle walks. Family love is sweet but on sugar control I just trusted my doctor.
Please dont try to manage high sugar only with home tips. If your readings are high it really needs your doctors guidance, sometimes they adjust things medically. Keep monitoring and stay in touch with your gynac, it matters for the baby.
With my PCOS background my sugars needed watching too. What worked was avoiding sugary drinks and juices completely and choosing whole foods. I wont claim it works for everyone though, please get a proper diet plan from your doctor.
Being at work made this tricky, so I prepped easy options like roasted chana and curd to avoid the office snacks. A 10 minute walk after lunch instead of sitting helped a lot. Small realistic changes are more doable than a huge diet overhaul.
I was diagnosed with GD in my 6th month so I went through this fully. Small frequent meals, cut down rice and sweets, more protein and veggies, and a short walk after meals really brought my numbers down. But please follow your doctor and dietician, every plan is personal.
My gynac put me on a glucose monitoring chart and said the post meal walk is the single most useful thing. She also told me to swap white rice for less, add salad before meals. Diet plus light activity plus regular monitoring was the combination she stressed.
