My doctor told me I need to watch my sugar levels during pregnancy. Can anyone share tips or dietary advice on how to control sugar in pregnancy, preferably in Tamil?
Managing sugar with morning sickness is so hard. Try having small, frequent meals like ragi porridge instead of heavy white rice, it helps control sugar and is easy on the stomach.
With my PCOS, sugar control was crucial. I replaced normal rice with brown rice or chapati, and always walked after meals. But please consult your doctor for a proper diet chart.
I had gestational diabetes too. Avoid white rice, idli, and dosa made of white rice. Instead, use kambu (bajra) or ragi to make idli/dosa, and eat lots of vegetables.
Tamil diet me normal white rice bohot hota hai, use control karo. Replace it with brown rice, ragi, or thinai (foxtail millet) to keep your sugar levels in check.
Eating home-cooked food like ragi dosa or oats is great for sugar. But if your sugar levels remain very high, please check with your doctor immediately for proper guidance.
I panicked so much when my sugar test came high! But honestly, just changing white rice to brown rice and doing light walking made it normal very soon.
