My TSH came a bit high in the last report and doc has started me on meds. Im 10 weeks and honestly stressed about how it affects the baby. Apart from medicine what else helped u keep it in range?
I had thyroid through my pregnancy. The main thing is taking your medicine exactly as prescribed, empty stomach in the morning, and getting TSH retested regularly so the dose can be adjusted. Dont skip follow ups, that is what kept mine in range.
I manage thyroid too and honestly it is very doctor dependent. The dose changes during pregnancy, so frequent monitoring matters most. Please dont adjust anything on your own, let your doctor tweak it based on numbers.
My doctor explained TSH needs to be kept lower in pregnancy so they may increase the thyroid dose. She checked it every 6 to 8 weeks. Take the tablet on empty stomach and dont have it with calcium or iron close by. Always go by your reports.
Medicine timing and regular testing is the whole game here. I never missed my dose and got TSH done each trimester. Diet alone wont control it if you need medication, so stick to what your endocrinologist or gynac says.
