I am confused because my app says 28 weeks is 7 months but my family counts differently. Every time someone asks which month, I give different answer. How do you calculate months from weeks?
Easiest way honestly is to put your last period date into a pregnancy app, it does the counting for you in weeks and tells you the due date. They count 40 weeks from your last period. I never bothered counting months manually.
I was so confused by this too at first, like is it from period or from when I conceived. Turns out they count from the last period, 40 weeks total. Did anyone else find the week vs month thing confusing? The app cleared it up for me.
Beta the doctors count from the first day of your last monthly date, and it comes to about nine months and few days. Don't try to count exactly yourself, the doctor will tell you the due date. Just note your last period date for them.
My doctor explained they count from the first day of your last period, not from conception, and full term is 40 weeks. That's why it works out slightly over 9 calendar months. Honestly I just trusted the due date she calculated and tracked weeks.
Doctors actually count in weeks, not months, and it's 40 weeks from the first day of your last period. So it's really more like 9 and a bit months. Easiest is to just go by the weeks and the due date your doctor gives.
