Everyone keeps asking how many weeks i am and honestly i get confused. My last period was around 20th but i dont fully get how to count from that date. Can someone explain in simple way pls?
Honestly, my brain is too foggy in this 3rd trimester to do math! But basically, you count from the very first day of your last period, not the last day. There are online LMP calculators that do this in a second, use those and save your energy!
According to my gynac, LMP stands for Last Menstrual Period. You count starting from the first day of your last cycle. But she also mentioned that the dating scan (NT scan around 12 weeks) gives the most accurate gestational age if your cycles are irregular.
My MIL told me to just count from the first day of my last period, and that's exactly how doctors do it too! So if your last period started on 1st March, that is day 1 of your pregnancy. Even though baby conceives later, this is the standard way.
Oh, I remember sitting with a calendar and counting those weeks over and over, feeling so excited and nervous! Just count from the first day your last period started. Every week that passes brings you closer to holding your little miracle.
It's a bit of a scam, right? You aren't even pregnant in those first two weeks but they still count them! Just mark the first day of your last period and count weeks from there. Don't worry, the doctors will correct it anyway during your first scan.
