First time pregnant and totally confused how the weeks and months are counted. Doc says one week, the apps show another, im lost yaar. How do u all keep track correctly?
Girl, don't even try to count it yourself unless you're a math genius or have a really specific period tracker. My gynac just told me 'X weeks' and I went with it. Otherwise you'll be doing calculations instead of enjoying your pickle cravings! Just let the doc handle the numbers, you handle the glowing!
Oh, believe me, this was such a source of confusion and anxiety for me in my first trimester! It's totally normal to feel like you're doing math homework. Doctors usually count from your Last Menstrual Period (LMP), even if you conceived later. Don't stress, the gynac will tell you your exact week and due date.
I felt so silly asking my doc this question initially! It's always from your last period date, not from when you think you conceived. So even if you're like 4 weeks pregnant, it's counted from your period, not like a month after conception. It's confusing but you'll get used to tracking by weeks.
Haha, I remember feeling so lost with the counting too! Weeks, months, trimesters... it's like learning a new language. Your doctor will always use weeks starting from your last period, and that's the most accurate way. Don't worry, eventually it will all make sense, especially once you start feeling those kicks!
By now I just say 'I'm very pregnant' 😂. But seriously, doctors count from your Last Menstrual Period (LMP), not from when you actually conceived. So when they say '10 weeks pregnant', it's usually 8 weeks post-conception. It's a weird system, but you'll get the hang of it. Just try to enjoy the journey, it's a long one!
The doctors always count from the first day of your last period, even if you know your exact ovulation date. It helps them plan for your due date and all the milestones. My C-section was planned based on my exact week count, so it's quite important for them. Just follow what your gynac says, they'll guide you perfectly.
