How to count your pregnancy weeks?

I always get confused when ppl ask how many weeks i am. do we count from the last period or from conception? my doc says one number and the apps show something else, so im a bit lost honestly.

Count from first day of last period. An app makes it simple.

I just put my last period date into a pregnancy app and it counted the weeks for me automatically. So much easier than doing the math. It even told me the trimester and due date, super handy.

I was so confused about why they count from the last period when I wasnt even pregnant then, haha. The app cleared it up for me. Did anyone else find this counting thing weird at first?

My gynac explained that weeks are counted from the first day of your last period, not from conception. So u are already counted as about 2 weeks pregnant at conception itself. The dating scan then fine tunes it. Bit confusing first but makes sense once explained.
